Full integration of HP Smart Device Services into Mercury Fleet & Service Management
Thanks to the very close cooperation with HP USA, the software company docuFORM from Karlsruhe (Germany), as a pioneer, was able to integrate the extended possibilities of HP SDS 2 into its fleet and service management (FSM) and successfully introduce it to the market. Due to the predictive diagnostics with HP Smart Device Service (SDS), you can solve problems before they occur. This minimizes the need for on-site service technicians. This allows you to manage your fleet of devices more efficiently, save valuable time and offer your customers increased system availability.
As one of the first Managed Print Services solutions, Mercury MPS Software has successfully completed HP Smart Device Services SDS 2.0 certification for partner fleet management solutions.
Thanks to the complete integration of the HP SDS functions in the vendor independent MPS solution from docuFORM you keep the data sovereignty - whether hosted, in the docuFORM Cloud or on Premise. The SDS 2.0 Essential Security and Configuration Settings are designed to provide additional security and configuration options when using Mercury MPS.
SDS was designed with data security in mind. Communication between Mercury MPS and the HP Service Cloud is encrypted over HTTPS/TLS, with Mercury MPS controlling which devices communicate with the HP Cloud. HP does not have access to the network for device discovery or information gathering. The HP Cloud will only respond to DCA/SDS, no communication is initiated to the device, nor does the HP Cloud collect user or job information from the monitored devices. An identity management system authenticates the user identity when accessing the portal interface, while an encrypted registry establishes a secure connection between the data connectors and Mercury MPS. HP is ISO 27001 certified.
In the context of remote maintenance of devices, the technology of the docuFORM REST interface comes into play. Using this REST-Api any remote interaction between cloud and devices can be implemented. Furthermore, in the context of manufacturer integrations, various cloud platforms can be used in parallel to obtain and process extended device information. This includes preventive service measures, remote device maintenance, firmware rollout, or display control. For the docuFORM concept it is essential that customer networks are not opened from the outside..
